Mixed Reality Lab
The PLAN technology workshop at the MRL is an opportunity for a small technically capable group to learn from each other and explore, build, and define the realities of future research directions in the emerging fields of pervasive and locative media. The group includes expertise and access to a whole range of platforms and technologies in this area including sensors and actuators, present and next generation cellphone networks and handsets, web 2.0 methods and standards, interaction and industrial design, mathematical modelling and simulation.
The workshop will take place at the Mixed Reality Lab (MRL) which is a large well equipped lab workspace within the new computer science campus at Nottingham University. There will be WIFI and ethernet access to the internet (superjanet high-speed educational network), projectors, and staff will be on hand to help with additional technical requirements. PJ's, the recommended hotel, is five minutes walk from the MRL. There will be suggestions for things to do and places to eat in the evening in Nottingham, and food and drinks will be easilly accessible through Nottingham University catering facilities all through the event.
